Mackowski spoke on βThe Rise of Ulysses S. Grant and Moments of Contingencyβ and βThe What-Ifs of the North Anna Riverβ (a phase of the Civil Warβs 1864 Overland Campaign in Virginia).
Mackowski also gave an invited talk at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, Georgia, on Oct. 7 about the Civil War battle of Spotsylvania Court House.
