Perkins publishes research, represents U.S. at Nursing Congress

Connie Perkins, founding director of Nursing, co-authored an article in the Journal of Professional Nursing, which is the journal of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. The article, β€œFamily caregiving competencies for level one nursing education,” was developed through the Consortium for Family Caregiving Competencies in Nursing Education, in which she participates as a representative of rural health care.

Perkins also attended the International Council of Nurses Congress in June as a representative of the American Nurses Association. The Congress was held in Helsinki, Finland, and brought more than 7,000 nurses from over 130 countries together to discuss the conference theme β€œNursing Power to Change the World.”
