Perkins publishes research, represents U.S. at Nursing Congress
Connie Perkins, founding director of Nursing, co-authored an article in the Journal of Professional Nursing, which is the journal of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. The article, βFamily caregiving competencies for level one nursing education,β was developed through the Consortium for Family Caregiving Competencies in Nursing Education, in which she participates as a representative of rural health care.
Perkins also attended the International Council of Nurses Congress in June as a representative of the American Nurses Association. The Congress was held in Helsinki, Finland, and brought more than 7,000 nurses from over 130 countries together to discuss the conference theme βNursing Power to Change the World.β
